The Best Food Trucks in Chico Right Now

Our running list of the Chico food trucks worth driving across town for — from Thursday Night Market regulars to the lunch trucks parked near DeGarmo Park.

A row of food trucks at dusk with warm string lights overhead

Chico's food-truck scene has quietly become one of the best things about living here. A college town gives you the volume, the Sacramento Valley gives you the produce, and the weather gives you about nine months of legitimate outdoor-eating season. Here's where we're sending people right now.

Thursday Night Market regulars

From spring through fall, downtown Broadway turns into a long row of trucks every Thursday evening. A few that are almost always worth the line:

  • Tacos Mary — Honest al pastor and a salsa bar that's worth the second trip back.
  • Lazy Daisy's — Wood-fired pizzas with a chewy crust and a smart, short menu.
  • The Sicilian Café truck — Arancini and sandwiches that punch above their price.

Lunch trucks worth chasing

Some of the best food in town happens between 11 and 2, parked at a brewery, a tasting room, or a business park. Follow them on Instagram — locations rotate weekly.

  • Da Bomb Authentic Filipino Cuisine — Lumpia, lechon kawali, and one of the best $14 lunches in town.
  • Bombay Bistro on Wheels — Tikka masala that holds up to the restaurant version, with a great paneer roll.
  • Tin Roof BBQ — Brisket sandwiches that move fast and a Friday-only burnt-ends special.

Sweet stuff

  • Shubert's on the go — When the brick-and-mortar line is wrapping the block, the truck is the play.
  • Stoble Coffee cold-brew cart — Pulls up at farmers markets and the occasional pop-up; the oat-milk cold brew is excellent.

Where to find them on a quiet night

North Chico — including the DeGarmo Park area — gets a steady rotation of trucks at Secret Trail Brewing and Mulberry Station, both within a five-to-ten-minute drive. It's the kind of neighborhood where you can walk the dog after work, decide you don't feel like cooking, and be eating tacos under string lights twenty minutes later.

Hungry for a home near all of this? 125 DeGarmo Drive is a 3-bed, 2-bath Chico home listed at $499,000 — five minutes from most of the trucks on this list. See the listing →
